Zero Mine seeks partners to commercialise circular economy innovation

Revolutionising the recovery of valuable raw materials
The world’s electronic waste is growing at an unprecedented rate, and, at the same time, the availability of critical raw materials is decreasing. Zero Mine offers a solution to this challenge: we have developed a recovery method based on a patented hydrometallurgical process that enables the efficient recovery of precious and critical metals from waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE).
Zero Mine’s technology utilises circular economy principles and promotes resource efficiency while reducing dependence on virgin raw materials. We are now looking for strategic partners and investors to support the commercialisation and scaling of our technology.
Why join Zero Mine’s success story?
- Increasing demand for critical raw materials – The EU and several industrialised countries have recognised the strategic importance of rare earth metals and other critical raw materials. Metals are increasingly needed, for example, in defence and space technology and in the green transition.
- Patented and scalable technology – The process created through more than a decade of research is both technically and economically viable. Our goal is to commercialise the technology globally.
- Strong partners and developments – In cooperation with the University of Jyväskylä, Alva-yhtiöt Oy, Tapojärvi Oy and Elker Oy, we have developed and tested a process that is ready for the next phase: the construction of a pre-commercial plant.
- A concrete impact on the circular economy – Zero Mine’s solution promotes resource wisdom and supports more responsible material management in the electronics industry. The solution also supports the green transition and reduces dependence on rare natural resources.
Why do we need partners?
We have progressed from the research and pilot phase to the next step: the licensing and implementation of a pre-commercial plant. When production starts, our goal is to process 3 tonnes of printed circuit boards per day and recover valuable metals efficiently and in an environmentally friendly way. According to the current estimate, the investment decision will be made after the completion of the permit at the turn of 2026–2027. We are now looking for partners and investors to enable the progress of this project, which is critical for security of supply and the green transition.

Zero Mine
Zero Mine is a Finnish pioneer in the circular economy that extracts metals without mining. With our patented technology, we separate critical metals from electronic waste and return them to industry clean and of a high-grade – again and again.
